Aviate Flight School is located at Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) in Green Bay, Wisconsin. We operate out of the AVFLIGHT FBO, providing convenient access to a full-service aviation facility. Our location offers students the advantage of training in controlled airspace with a professional environment, while still enjoying the approachability of a regional airport. With modern amenities and easy access to the runway, our base at AVFLIGHT ensures a seamless and efficient training experience.
Aviate Flight School has been proudly operating since 2024, bringing a fresh and modern approach to flight training in the Green Bay area. While we are a newer school, our team is made up of experienced instructors and aviation professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality, personalized instruction. Since opening our doors, we’ve built a strong reputation for safety, professionalism, and student success, and we continue to grow as more aspiring pilots choose Aviate for their aviation journey.
In the United States, airlines generally do not pay for flight school upfront. Instead, aspiring pilots often fund their own training through personal savings, loans, or scholarships. However, some airlines offer tuition reimbursement programs or sponsor pilot training through their own flight schools, which can significantly reduce the financial burden on the pilot.
Yes, you can register in person at Aviate Flight School; however, we kindly ask that you schedule an appointment in advance. This allows us to ensure that a member of our team is available to meet with you, answer any questions you may have, and provide a personalized introduction to our programs and facilities. We’re committed to giving each prospective student the time and attention they deserve, and setting an appointment helps us maintain that standard.
At Aviate Flight School, we proudly operate two Cessna 172 aircraft, widely regarded as the most popular and reliable training airplanes in the world. Known for their stability, simplicity, and forgiving flight characteristics, the Cessna 172 is an ideal platform for student pilots and experienced aviators alike. Our aircraft are meticulously maintained to ensure the highest standards of safety, providing a consistent and professional flight training experience.
Aviate Flight School offers a comfortable and well-equipped environment designed to support every stage of your training. Our facilities include a dedicated office for flight planning and administrative support, a quiet study area where students can focus on ground school and exam preparation, and a relaxing lounge space to unwind before or after flights. Whether you’re reviewing lessons, meeting with instructors, or simply enjoying a break, our facilities are designed to create a welcoming and productive atmosphere for all students.
While Aviate Flight School provides comprehensive training for many licenses and ratings, there are some limitations based on our current fleet. With our Cessna 172 aircraft, we offer excellent instruction for private pilot, instrument, and commercial ratings. However, we do not offer jet training, and endorsements such as multi-engine (twin) or floatplane require special arrangements. In certain cases, we can help coordinate aircraft rentals or partnerships to accommodate those advanced ratings, but they are not part of our standard in-house offerings. We’re always happy to work with students to explore options that fit their aviation goals.
The real cost of obtaining a pilot’s license can vary depending on individual progress, consistency of training, and additional requirements along the way. On average, most students can expect to invest between $10,000 and $15,000 to earn their Private Pilot License. This estimate includes aircraft rental, instructor fees, ground school, study materials, and necessary exams. While we strive to provide clear and upfront pricing, it’s important to understand that every student learns at their own pace, and total costs may differ slightly. At Aviate Flight School, we work closely with each student to create a personalized training plan that fits their goals and budget.
Expert training, personalized instruction, and a clear path to earning your pilot license.
